- a. UCU Manchester College dispute in defence of contracts: successful strike with large numbers of pickets, march and rally, further strike action 7,8,9 September.
- b. PCS campaigning against cuts including against threat to close magistrates courts in Salford and Rochdale.
- c. Emergency budget day protests, 22 June. Successful lunch time rally in Bolton, 200 marched following Right to Work rally in Piccadilly Gardens with large number of MTUC affiliates participating and sending speakers.
- d. NSSN conference, 26 June. Good turn out. Conference voted to lobby TUC, Sunday 12 September, to call national demonstration without delay.
- e. Anti Academy Alliance briefing, Monday 13 July. Over 60 in attendance including all teaching unions, Manchester steering committee established.

- a. Campaigning against BNP. Justice4Bolton. Agreed to support mobilisation against EDL, 28 August, Bradford.
- 5. Coming events and activities
- a. MTUC Peterloo commemoration, Monday 16 August. Briton’s Protection. Line up now incl. Claire Mooney, Dave Puller and Alun Parry’s Rich Man’s Ruin band.
- b. Manchester Trades Council TUC fringe meeting, 14 September. Large number of leaflets distributed. Further invitation to UNISON to provide platform speaker.

- a. Agreed to support LGBT history conference being organised by UCU in February 2011
- b. Proposal to provide list of MTUC delegates email addresses to all delegates discussed and rejected after vote.
- c. Nominations invited for Elizabeth Gaskell Award. Agreed to nominate Hilda Palmer, Gtr Manchester Hazards Centre
- 8. Presentation: Lawrence Hunt, UCATT convenor, Media City, Salford: ‘Organising in the Construction Industry’. Talk covering health and safety, bogus self employment, migrant workers, the current economic crisis, the need for our side to take action and much else very well received and followed by lively discussion in particular on blacklisting.
