Affiliation to Manchester Trades Union Council

Dear Colleague

Just a brief introduction from myself, my name is Frank Ellis and I have just taken over as Secretary of Manchester Trades Council.  I hope to build on the work Geoff Brown has done.  I am the TSSA delegate to Trades Council haveing worked in the rail and engineering industries.

We are begining to plan for this years May day and hope to make it an event inclusive of all the communiities struggling against the Tory Government.  More later.

If your branch is not affilaited already please look at the invitation below and come and join us.

Any trade union branch with members who live or work in Manchester or Trafford can send delegates to MTUC, and can also nominate delegates for membership of the Executive Committee.  The affiliation fee is fifteen pence per member per year, and details of how to affiliate are on the form attached below. A copy of this letter for downloading is also attached.

We would be very happy to send an executive member to speak at your branch, branch committee or officers' meeting, to explain more about what MTUC is and does, and to answer any questions you may have.  Alternatively, just give me a ring or email me.
