Following the election that nobody won, public services are faced with massive attacks as the Con/Lib coalition tries to make the lowest paid and most vulnerable workers in our society pay for the mistakes and greed of the bankers.
This year the Trades Union Congress comes home to Manchester. We are proud to have organised a Fringe Meeting to debate and decide what we can do about these attacks. This meeting is designed to promote unity between TUC delegates, trades unionists in the North West and indeed anyone who wants to defend public services...here are the details...

North West TUC organised Lobby of Lib-Dem Conference
The Government’s cuts are already damaging jobs and services.
Much worse will come in October’s spending review. Ministers tell us that there is no alternative. But the cuts won’t just hit vital services, they threaten economic recovery.
Coalition policies are not just about reducing the deficit, but undermining publicly accountable quality services.
Join unions, the TUC, teachers, pupils, parents and public sector workers in a lobby of delegates to the Lib Dem annual conference.
- Tell them just how unpopular and damaging the cuts will be
- Explain the alternative of a fair tax system

Right to Work Campaign - Manchester
Tell Cameron:
Stuff your cuts, we won't pay!
Sunday 3rd October, 12 noon
Outside the Tory Party Conference in Birmingham
Sign the statement in support of 3rd October Protest
Support for the Right to work protest outside the Tory Party Conference is growing. Already three national unions (the PCS, NUJ and UCU) are supporting the march, as is the Labour Representation Committee. Many local trades councils, trade union branches, community campaigns and green groups from across the working class movement have also backed the protest against the cuts. Right to Work has now produced a statement signed by MPs and national campaigners calling for the protest to be as big as possible. We would like to encourage everyone in Manchester to add their name to the statement and get others to sign-up.
