Steve Acheson today received a deserved standing ovation at UNITE policy conference in Brighton when moving the successful motion on blacklisting.
The motions and amendments (passed unanimously) call upon the UNITE Executive to:
- organise industrial action in support of blacklisted member
- support the demand by John McDonnell MP and Michael Meacher MP for a Public Inquiry and raise the issue with the TUC and their sponsored MPs
- use their political influence to have firms guilty of blacklisting to be removed from contract
