Report on N30 from the Right to Work Campaign:

The biggest strike in Britain since 1926 kicked off at midnight. Hospital workers and university workers walked out and set up picket lines.

There are thousands of picket lines across the country, soon to be followed by hundreds of rallies and marches.

Electricians have joined the protests today, and a huge banner saying ‘all power to the 99%’ was draped at Liverpool Street Station.

Mark Serwotka at passport service in Central London. “I have been to pickets around central London and spirits are sky high with many other unions besides PCS out on strike. I hope that anyone reading this blog will go from the picket line to their local march or rally so TV stations will be covered with pictures of thousands of us making our point. “People should be very proud of the stand they are making today in contrast to the shame of the government

In Birmingham the ConDem council refused to agree a route for the demo. The unions refused to cancel the march and 15,000 people marched through the streets.
